The Tool Life Monitoring System is a technology-driven solution designed to optimize tool usage, increase productivity, and reduce downtime in industrial environments. It utilizes RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology to track and monitor the lifespan of tools, ensuring timely maintenance and replacement.
How the system works:
1. Tool Identification: Each tool is assigned a unique RFID tag, which is attached securely. The RFID tag contains relevant information about the tool.
2. RFID Reader Communication: As tools are used or returned, the Fixed RFID Reader detects the RFID tags within its range and communicates with them using radio frequency signals.
3. Data Capture and Processing: The Fixed RFID Reader captures the tool's identification and usage data from the RFID tags. It sends this information to a central database or software system for further processing.
4. Tool Life Monitoring: The database or software system analyses the tool usage data to determine the remaining lifespan of each tool. It compares the actual usage against predefined thresholds or parameters to generate maintenance or replacement alerts.
5. HMI Display and Alerts: The HMI displays the tool inventory, usage statistics, and maintenance alerts in a user-friendly format. Operators or maintenance personnel can easily monitor tool statuses, plan maintenance activities, and make informed decisions regarding tool usage and replacement.
